Our Philosophy

Datum exists to bring a sense of purpose back to loudspeaker design. Every decision—driver topology, cabinet material, crossover architecture—is made to serve one objective: accurate reproduction with the energy of a live performance. We favor professional, high‑sensitivity coaxial drivers for their point‑source coherence and controlled directivity. We design for real rooms, not anechoic chambers. We avoid unnecessary complexity and voice for dynamic realism.

What Makes Datum Different

Coaxial Coherence

Our loudspeakers use professional-grade coaxial drivers. By aligning the compression driver and mid/woofer on a single axis, they behave as a true point source, delivering precise imaging and even coverage while reducing room interference.

Precision Cabinetry

Our cabinets are hand-crafted from 25 mm (1-inch) Baltic Birch for stiffness and damping, paired with massive 50 mm (2-inch) thick composite baffles. These speakers feel like precision instruments, not furniture.

Model 8

A compact 8 inch coaxial loudspeaker that delivers strong mid‑bass and wide coverage. Designed to fill smaller rooms with vivid, coherent sound, it can stand alone or integrate seamlessly with subwoofers for deeper extension.

Model 12

A 12 inch coaxial loudspeaker that anchors the Datum line. High sensitivity and controlled directivity allow it to energize larger spaces without losing finesse. It offers effortless performance on its own and scales gracefully in a multi-way system.

We keep our line concise to do fewer things better. Future designs may expand the range, but every Datum speaker will remain true to our core values of clarity, energy and precision.

Datum speakers are designed to work together. For example, Model 12 can anchor a stereo or home‑theater system, Model 8 can serve as surrounds or even a horizontal center channel, and our forthcoming subwoofer can provide the foundation. This modularity lets you build a system that grows with your needs.
